We are 4 retired couples from Georgia. We all loved your house. The layout was perfect for us. The views are peaceful and we had delciously perfect weather. I think that was the theme of our stay - PERFECT! Thank you for your generous supply of shampoo, paper goods, food, coffee, etc. Our one regret - not staying longer! It is welcoming and comfortable.

PS I cleaned the grounds out of the bottom of the coffee pot and it sped up the process but we still got up a few minutes early to give it enough time - it takes its time for sure.

August 30 - September 2
The cabin was great except for a few issues. The bathroom downstairs near the corner bedroom, the sink didn't work. Maybe all the showers were a bit wonky. If you want it warm you can't turn it too much of it would be burning hot. Good thing the shower worked though! We appreciate all the tissues in the living room, we are glad that we had gotten a big space like this! The view is amazing and the weather was nice. Thank you for letting us use this cabin. We enjoyed staying here!

Amazing cabin perfect for family & friends to enjoy. I would definitely recommend it. I wish we could of stayed longer but we still had a great time going out and checking out the views. The Yosemite waterfalls are a breathe taking view, a lot of hiking but it was definitely worth it.

We had a wonderful time here and in Yosemite. The view is spectacular. We spent so much time on the deck, and were glad it was child proof. Many things were so helpful for our group of 13. Each bedroom had a bathroom, there were multiple places to eat inside and on the deck, double laundry, and double refrigerators. It was convenient to have two cars in the garage and the extra bathroom there. The child carrier was very helpful for our four year old on our many hikes. Our head cook wanted to take your stove home with him, he so enjoyed cooking on it. The children enjoyed the train set in the living room.

We enjoyed being so close to the park and we were usually at the gate by 7:30. The plants and landscaping were beautiful and we enjoyed watching the birds at the bird feeder.

We have a few suggestions:
1) When taking a shower the water can become extremely hot if some one else fllushes a toilet etc. Decreasing the temperature of the hot water heater might help this.
2) The nails in the small wooden child's stool no longer hold the stool together, so it falls apart.
3) We never figured out how to turn on the light in the closet bedroom.

This house is AMAZING. Our group contains FOUR families, and it's really difficult to find a house that suits our needs as four families, but the Trestlewood Chalet did NOT disappoint. Its many rooms provided EVERYONE a comfortable place to sleep and its many features kept us entertained (especially the dumbwaiter). I'm so grateful to the creators & owners of the Trestlewood Chalet . Truly a great find.

We enjoyed our Yosemite adventure with challenging hikes and relaxing evenings in your cabin. It was so comfortable and well-stocked! Three couples had plenty of room to spread out and relax. The proximity to Yosemite made it easy + convenient to get to the park for our daily adventure. Trip tip: Go see the sunset at Glacier Point. It was spectacular. We have travelled a long way (from the Bahamas) and have greatly enjoyed our time here - we can't thank you enough for all the supplies which you graciously provided. It made our visit that much more enjoyable as we didn't have to trek to the store quite so often. We will recommend Trestle Chalet to friends who may wish to visit Yosemite in the future

The previous note messed up the date. We are still in June.
We saw more than 10 shooting stars last night. The sky was full of stars. We couldn't move our eyes away. The fresh air and cool breeze in the morning was absolutely amazing. I miss the days when you don't need to blast AC and confine yourself inside.

_WOWSERS!! _
This place is so amazing & completely blew our minds and exceeded our expectations. I live in San Diego (but from Georgia) & my whole family got to fly out & have an amazing vacation here. Our first day one of our rentals got 2 flats in Yosemite & had to get it towed but it was no problem because we all piled in the Suburban & came back here and had an awesome night of cooking, cards, & board games. The next day we got fully prepped & got the new rental & all headed to the lower falls. What an amazing sight - we hiked up the rocks a bit very close to the falls and got misted from the falls which was perfect on the hot day. Next day we found a really cool secluded swimming hole & falls -> if you've read this far I'll let you know the Secret Spot :-) Take a left out of the driveway go about a mile up the road & on your right there's a sign for something "Cotteges" & "Pizza" take that right & follow the signs for "horseback riding" once you get to the horseback riding - keep going [sign says no motor vehicles on the gate but we were told that if the gates open you can drive the road] drive until you see a gate& green box on the left - your should see a cottage/shack past the gate [park to the right] then go to the back of the cottage & theres a trail along the creek. Follow it all the way & when it 'dead ends" @ the dam looking thing keep going - follow the creek you'll find it :-) ] Pack a picnic
Next day we went to glacier point which had breathtaking views & had dinner @ El Cid [Mexican] in Oakhurst, Awesome food! If you like antiques you gotta check out the red barn looking place on the left (after El Cid but at the beginning of town). Look for Sasquatch! Go through the barn doors & ask for Grandpa he has all kinds of stories (heart).
Last day we rode some jackasses through Yosemite - it was beautiful! :-)

May 28 - June 2, 2018
Family reunion. All of us had a great time. Kitchen is very well-equipped - love its double ovens. And the spices! With 12 of us here, we had plenty of room to spread out and eat our meals! We had a blast at Yosemite Sentinel Dome was our favorite as well as 2 bear sighting - 2 yearlings at Glacier Point and a mama bear and her 2 cubs at the turn by Tioga Pass! Fantastic!

I think that my favorite thing about your home is the Blue Jays outside the deck and the magnolia bush outside the kitchen windows! [heart heart] We loved using the upper portion of the home, it was just the four of us. Everything is well stocked and thought out. We had a blast in Yosemite and loved all of the information about the park that you have here.

I love this place! It is so cool! I've never heard of a dumbwaiter before. How about you? I bet you are a great family. And once I came home a there was a lizard in my room! The next day a different lizard in there. The first time I was totally freaked out! But I love handling lizards! Trust me...it's super fun! And there were a ton of spiders here. The lizard was a western fence lizard (sceloporus occidentalis) It was 9 inches long! It was so cool!

The world can be a cold place, but with me and my crew of flunkies, just made it a whole lot warmer. We came to Yosemite National Park to hike, swim, and see 7 reindeer eating in one of the valley's glorious meadows. We were able to complete all three of these tasks; with our only wounds being toe blisters and a searing flatulence that may have put a hole in a few of your couches.

Yosemite is an Apache word. It means "place of fun + getting bananas." Those Native Americans saw what future generations of Yosemite inhabitants would experience. They even coined the slang term "props," way before early 90s hip-hop group Black Moon. That's why my friends and I come here. The history lessons are so complex, it's amazing how we're able to retain such knowledge.

In conclusion, you have a wonderful house full of charm and beauty. It fits in perfectly with the Yosemite backdrop; but then again, a soccer riot would be beautiful if it's in Yosemite National Park. Thank you for your hospitality. Remember, don't take shit from anyone + spay or neuter your pets.

We traveled to Beautiful Yosemite from the suburbs of Chicago (Downers Grove). We hiked the falls in Yosemite Valley and it was magnificent. Challenging for some in our group ages 10-50 yrs old.

Your house met and exceeded our needs. We don't have dogs with us but loved how accommodating the house is set up for 4 legged family members.

But in all my travels, your kitchen was the most amply supplied. Throughout the house, you had wonderful amenities.

We enjoyed our stay with our friends the Ss and will recommend to our friends!

We had a wonderful week in Yosemite, and it started with the Trestlewood Chalet. The spacious upper level of the chalet was perfect for our large family group. Breakfast on the deck to start the day. Upon returning at days end, the large kitchen + dining area gave us space to regroup after each day's outing, planning the next days adventure. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

This is Mint (aka Minpin "woof"). I don't really know what to write... -_- . The house is great. Bigger and better than I imagine it would. I felt stupid for not bringing card to play but I'm glad they provide it. The kitchen look nice too. I really like the kid room. I'm taking the top bunk (cause there a bunk bed in that room.). The balcony view is also nice too. Really nice. :-)

We (strikeout) The two of us went on a train today. Me & Mint and the other puppy. The oterh puppy was very bored. Actually Mint was too, but the talking was not too bad.

(heart heart) This is the best hotel (strikeout) motel (strikeout) um.... I feel like some super kind and generous relative let us live in this house. Because this house makes me feel like home!

We loved the way the ktichen was well-stocked with food. Also the decks were very nice for relaxing between our excursions into Yosemite. We hiked almost 23 miles over the week and had a great river rafting experience the last day we were here.

Your Yosemite Trestlewood Chalet was very comfortable and beautiful. The house had everything we needed. The kitchen was very well stocked.

The first night we got here we walked down the trails in the garden. We found 28 wildflowers. The next day we split up one part of the family went on the Mist Trail to the top of Nevada Falls and the other half Mirror Lake and we saw a rattle snake. On the last day of Yosemite we went to Glacier Point we hiked the 4 mile trail down we saw Yosemite Falls grama and grampa picked us up at the bottom. At the very end befor we went in the car we dipped our feet in the lake. Finally befor we got home we went to the Visitor Senter and I got to be a junior Ranger.

We had a group of 8 - ages 6 to 72 from Michigan and Los Angeles -- here for a week. We've had a great time in this beautiful + cozy place. Actually make that 10 as 2 dogs (Angeleno) joined our adventure. The bat revealed itself once but has not escaped.

What a wonderful way to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary with our whole family. Everything was at our fingertips. This cabin was perfect! It comfortably swallowed up 2 families with the right blend of community space and privacy, technology (Roku/Wifi) and a good ole fireplace andboard games. We will be back for sure! We would prefer to even pay a little more in cleaning fee if we could leave our trash here. It's not easy or enjoyable to stuff it out in our cars along with our bags and gear.

Very spacious!! Lots of room. The driveway ice was a bit dicey as we had a heck of a time getting to the house from the street. But we got here! Lots of birds by the dining room & the squirrel was quite entertaining! The kids also had a great time making snow caricatures/art ouf the snow on the patio. The heat in the house worked out very well and we were very comfortable considering the cold outside. It could use some "non-stick" pans for omlettes but we made due with the other frying pans! So all good!!

We loved your home simply beautiful! Everything was provided, the only con was the driveway, not clear off. I am disable and fell, had to carry partial items 500 yards, should have been clear off before we check in at 5pm duh! But otherwise family love clean rooms. My son is a chief in the Navy and is getting married day after Christmas at the Ahwahnee Hotel, hope everyone drives safe & sound. Husband broke wrist at the entrance

What an amazing Thanksgiving week our little family had in this wonderful house... so comfortable with room for everyone. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the house and all the amenities provided. It started snowing just after we arrived and continued through the following day... "icing" on the cake!

I loved staying in this house, it is fun. The backyard is cool too. It's really nice here. I liked looking at the stars at night. You can see them better here. This is my first time in Yosemite and I think it is a good experience. Because of the house and because of the the National Park. It is a good place.

This was our second trip to Trestlewood -- this time for a son's wedding and this time with a large extended family group. Again the place worked out very well for our varied needs + interests, and represents a real h value compared to other options. Communications with Dave have been exactly what we expected and we have confidence in he and Suzanne keeping their end of the agreement -- not always the case with VRBOs - So thanks, Dave & Suzanne, for making this great place available, we hope to return soon.

Your home is beautiful. We came for a family reunion (OK, WA, WI, MI + CA) and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We hiked in Yosemite multiple trails and explored the valley floor. We loved the railroad across the way and enjoyed dinner at the South Gate Brewing Co. in Oakhurst. The views from the back patio were perfect, the stars from the driveway were amazing. The house was perfect and had everything we could ever need.
At one point this week we had 14 people (12 adults and 2 little ones). What a perfect place for all of us to talk, play games, eat and explore. And the little guys _loved_ the train table. Thank you for opening your home to our family - we loved every minute. To all those who stay - Enjoy! What an amazing place!

What a perfect place fora family get-together! Pat & I loved the way our grandsons played with each other: cousins having fun & meaningful times together. Took many trips to Yosemite & even got fish to strike on the Merced! It is hard to pick a favorite thing we did. Biking, hiking, visitingTenaya Lodge, Sugar Pine R/R & the Inn across the street. Good times at Bass Lake & Oakhurst too. (The only negative was one of our guests had his credit card hacked $4000 at Camp Curry's Pizza Bar so use cash there.)

Again, awesome visit to Yosemite. We did almost everything! This time we got the TV to work! Only thing - the banister is not 1 year old child proof. Safety. We were creative. The house was nice on the inside. I like the town of Oakhurst was so convenient because of the dinners, Movie Theaters, Groceries Stores. We went on hikes. If I was to recomend a hike I would recommend Vernal Falls Hike. This house and area is so nice you are lucky to live here.

We were the happily invited extra family "the Outlaws." Yosemite was such a thrill - hiking, bike riding, just enjoying family. A pefect house for all the extended family - so well equipped, so comfortable.

Beautiful view and a wonderful, accommodating home for two families to share. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and the kids got good use out of the train table. Our legs are sore from hiking but our bodies are refreshed after 4 days of exploring this beautiful area.
TIPS:
If you are exploring Mariposa Grove or Yosemite Valley, be sure to get there by 9am so you get a parking space!
South Gate Brewery in Oakhurst is casual, friendly and has decent beer.
Pack out your trash every day so it doesn't become a big, stinky job at the end of your trip.
SUGGESTIONS:
Larger dining table to accommodate all guests
New railing on inside stairs that kids can't fit through.

Thank you ever so much for letting us stay in your special house.  The view is spectacular and the house is gorgeous.  We thought it might be a squeeze for 11 of us but with so many bedrooms some of us had our own double bed! 

We got to visit Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point and even Mariposa Grove. The were all lovely and I would highly recommend those places to any future guests (if you don't mind driving thousands of feet above sea level on windy roads).

If your would like something for the kids, we went to Bass Lake and hired a boat and went tubing which was a fantastic way to cool down in 90 degrees!  Swimming in the rivers at Yosemite was also a popular activity in the heat.

Your house is very well equipped and we used the BBQ twice and washed and dried our clothes.  The games were definitely used.  Probably more than the TV which is a good sign. 

Our only problems were:
-door locked from outside (fixed)
-hard bed to sleep on (we swapped)
-power cut /slow internet some places (fixed)

Dear David and Suzanne,
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us.  We loved how we could literally take a small hike without ever touching the car.  The view right from the house is also breathtaking.  If I had a view like this at my house, you would find me at home every single day with a book (or homework :-) ) propped on my lap sitting and enjoying the  wonderful view.  Also, your home is super close to Yosemite (which we loved).  Instead of driving for hours at a time, we got to wake up, take a short ride, and then immediately go hiking and sight seeing in Yosemite.

With the size of my family, road trips like this can prove to be incredibly difficult.  Getting to share this experience with my entire family has been a blast.  Your wonderful home fit all 21 of us comfortably.  WIth a family this big, living arrangements can quickly become a problem.  This house was just the right size and practically perfect in every way!! -- All the amenities provided made this experience that much better.  From the towels, to the bedsheets, to the kitchen utensils, everything was provided! (A HUGE THANK YOU TO THAT!!)

I can assure you that we will be returning to the Trestlewood Chalet many more times.  Once again, thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home and enjoying all the amenities it comes with :-).

The house is huge and we loved the space for hanging out, relaxing and generally having a good time!  We were looking for a place to catch up at, chill out and not spend too much time outdoors!  This place gave us the perfect retreat! :-)

We love the view from the deck on the side of the mountain.  The quaint little pathway wth the staircase leading down is very cute.  There's a nice rustic feel to the whole place that we all enjoyed so much.  It is great to get away from the crowded city to a peaceful little retreat.

All in all, we had a very nice time the 3 nights that we spent here.

What a great house!  We were so glad to have it as our base for this wonderful vacation.  In just one day in Yosemite, we visited the Mariposa Grove, Lower Yosemite Falls, Bridalveil Falls, Glacier Point -- and the best part was seeing a mama bear and two cubs on our way out of the park.  What a treat for Mother's Day!  I will definitely recommend this house and consider it for future Yosemite visits.

We have had the joy of staying in both houses now -- Logger's Retreat -- and I prefer this one. 

We were looking to start new traditions in this house the past week and did just that.   The views are excellent.  The house is pleasant and the holiday season has been fantastic.  Our stay here has done much to help us head as a family and begin to grow again in a positive way.

The fireplace which Logger's doesn't have, is an extra bonus.  Thanks for having us.  We cannot wait to come back.

What a wonderful place for a family vacation - a spacious house, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean.  We loved every minute of it!!

As it was Memorial Day weekend not everyone wanted to venture up to Yosemite Valley.  So we hiked Lewis Creek.  Spent a day in the Wawona area, hiking up to Chilnualna Falls, and visited Mariposa Grove.   Our granddaughter who is 2 1/2, loves Thomas, adored the Sugar Pine RR ride!! (We also found a great little park with slides & swings in Oakhurst.) And the birds drawn by the birdfeeder left her in awe. 

My son is chef and marveled at how well equipped the kitchen was equipped.

If you're looking for stroller-friendly hikes in the valley, we truly enjoyed the  Lower Yosemite Falls hike and Mirror Lake.

Thank you for the amazing cabin you have provided for us.  It was very comfortable and spacious.  The  view was also very beautiful.  We all enjoyed our stay very much.  We appreciate all the kitchen utensils and home supplies as well.  The bathrooms were helpful, too.  It was great having access to many people living here for the weekend.  All of us enjoyed the luxury towels, too.  We all had a great stay.  It was very great knowing we didn't have to bring anything but food since your services provided everything else.  We are truly grateful  that you provided such a relaxing and homey chalet that we hold very much in high regards.  We shall definitely be returning and telling many of our fun and amazing stay in the Trestlewood Chalet!  Again, thank you so much for your excellent services! :-)

Dear Suzanne & David,

We are very grateful that you have made your home a rental for families like us to enjoy.  Your home has many features to recommend.  Primary among them are the spaciousness & design, comfortable beds, large dining room table, well-stocked kitchen w/ basic cooking supplies, paper goods, & utensils/dinnerware, cleanliness & good condition of furniture & amenities.

We've had a wonderful time at your house.  We all agreed this was one of the best rental properties we've ever been to.  The house is beautiful, spacious, and well laid out to accommodate our group of 9. 

We love to cook and we appreciate your kitchen being so well equipped and having more than basic ingredients for cooking. 

We love going to Yosemite and this stay gave us a great opportunity to explore our favorite place in winter.

We've had such a lovely weekend!  It's been a pleasure to stay in this beautiful warm home, nestled in the woods.  We enjoyed exploring around the house, walking the nearby trail, and being so close to the train.  Our daughter gets so excited each time she hears it in the distance.  She also thought it was such a treat to play with your train set -- she loves Thomas.   All of the amenities - including the games & movies, helped us to feel comfortable & have fun as a family during our stay.   We also really enjoyed the nearby activities at Tenaya Lodge.  We took advantage of the activities for kids -- archery & horseback riding, & we loved the hike to the waterfall.  What a great place to stay -- thank you!
